True Grit: Cultivating Millennial Resiliency in the Classroom
New York State Association of College Music Professionals -
Hartwick College 2016
This workshop brought music faculty from across the state of New York together to explore the challenges of supporting millennial students to persevere and follow through on their college commitments.
Hartwick College Music Chair, Diane Paige, hosted the event on their beautiful campus. Diane organized a student recital reminding us all of the power of music.
Here are what some of the participants had to say:
Your information about simple techniques such as breathing, listening and locus of control were very valuable.
I will be communicating your techniques to my students.
I will be taking the reflective listening into my classes.
Your workshop was relevant, engaging and smart.
Your listening exercises were very thought provoking.
I will be referring you to my school.
I would like to spend more time with you to master these skills. Thank you!
It was a great workshop-and so relevant. I had two students in my office today with "toxic anxiety"
